Job #1: Evening Pet Sitter ($19/hr plus mileage)

A Leash Above CT is looking for a reliable, compassionate, and responsible Pet Sitter to join our Pack!

Our pet sitters care for a variety of animals in their own homes while their families are away. From dogs and cats to rabbits, chickens, and other small animals, every day can look a little different.

If you're someone who loves animals, enjoys being active, and takes pride in providing dependable, professional care, this could be a great fit for you!

**Must be available between 4pm-10pm**

What You'll Do​

• Provide in-home pet sitting and daily care visits

• Feed pets and provide fresh water

• Walk and exercise dogs

• Provide playtime, enrichment, and companionship

• Clean up after pets and maintain a safe, clean environment

• Give medications when needed and when comfortable doing so

• Care for multiple types of pets according to their individual needs

• Send visit reports, photos, and updates to pet parents

• Follow detailed care instructions

• Communicate professionally with clients and the A Leash Above CT team

• Treat every pet and home with the same care and respect you would your own

The Ideal Candidate Will:​

• Have at least 1 year of experience caring for animals

• Be comfortable working with both dogs and cats

• Be willing to work with dogs of all sizes and personalities

• Be comfortable walking on different terrain for 20+ minutes

• Be physically capable of handling larger dogs and active pets

• Have reliable transportation

• Have reliable cellphone service

• Be dependable and trustworthy

• Have excellent attention to detail

• Have fantastic customer service skills and a positive attitude

• Be comfortable working independently

• Be willing to work in all types of weather

• Be available for occasional short-notice visits when needed

• Be willing to travel throughout our service area

• Most importantly, LOVE animals!​

Bonus Qualities:​

• Previous professional pet sitting or dog walking experience

• Veterinary, animal science, or other animal-related experience

• Experience administering medications

• Experience caring for rabbits, birds, chickens, or other small/farm animals

• Experience with senior or special-needs pets

• Previous experience working in a customer-service position​

Job #2: Mid-Day Dog Walker ($19/hr plus mileage)

As-Needed Position with Potential for Permanent Employment

A Leash Above CT is looking for a reliable, responsible, and animal-loving individual to join our pack as a mid-day dog walker!

We are looking for someone available Monday through Friday between 10 AM and 2 PM to help cover dog walks for our clients in East Hampton, Marlborough and surrounding towns.

This is an as-needed position with the potential to grow into a permanent, more consistent position as our business continues to grow. Flexibility is important, as visits will vary based on client needs. Once you commit to a visit, reliability is a must!

What You'll Do

• Walk dogs safely and provide exercise, enrichment, and plenty of sniffing time.

• Follow each pet's individual care instructions and walking routine.

• Ensure pets have fresh water and are comfortable before leaving.

• Provide updates and photos to clients through our pet care app.

• Monitor pets for changes in behavior or signs of discomfort and communicate any concerns to the team.

• Clean up after pets and leave each home just as you found it.

• Build trusting relationships with our clients and their pets while providing dependable, compassionate care.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have at least 1 year of experience caring for and walking dogs.

• Be available Monday–Friday between 10 AM and 2 PM.

• Be comfortable working with dogs of all sizes, including dogs weighing over 150 lbs.

• Be able to lift 40+ lbs when necessary.

• Be physically able to walk for 20+ minutes over varied terrain.

• Be comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather, including snow, freezing rain, and summer heat.

• Be available to accept visits on relatively short notice, sometimes within 24 hours.

• Have reliable transportation and dependable cell phone service.

• Have excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.

• Be responsible, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.

• Have a genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional care.

Bonus Qualities:

• Previous professional dog walking or pet sitting experience.

• An educational background in an animal-related field.

• Experience administering pet medications or caring for animals with special needs.
